Judge Michael Jacobi is finding it increasingly difficult to maintain his public impeccability. He has to prevent the frightened car smuggler Zuber from being placed under witness protection and testifying against him. As her longtime mentor, Jacobi tries to influence the young criminal defense attorney Lisa Schwarz. Meanwhile, Arija Sailovic, daughter of the imprisoned clan leader Radan, wants to take over the family business.

No time for Judge Michael Jacobi to catch his breath: Although the incriminating witness has been eliminated, the problems continue. Inspector Kirchner gets the green light to investigate the star lawyer, who is showing increasing nerves.
